Single cyclone powder room or multiple cyclone powder room? Which is better?
Cyclone separation and recovery of overspray powder is widely accepted by the powder coating industry for its simple structure, no moving parts, high separation efficiency, moderate decompression, etc., especially its excellent performance under high temperature, high pressure, and high dust concentration.
As we all know, the cyclone recovery system configured in the automatic spray booth has two types: single cyclone and multi-cyclone. But I'm sure some of you will be confused which is better or more appropriate. This article will give you some clues.
Single Cyclone Features
It is a single large cyclone separator, which uses the principle of centrifugal sedimentation to separate the powder from the air flow. The heavier particles in the air fall into the collection pan, while the remaining lighter particles are pushed up to the rear filter section. Since it is a single cyclone, it must be at least 5 meters high, so your factory building should have sufficient height.
Multi-cyclone features
The multi-cyclone is composed of many small-diameter cyclone tubes as a whole. When dealing with the same air flow, its separation efficiency is better than single cyclone separator, especially suitable for collecting fine powder. However, the air distribution of each cyclone tube is difficult to be uniform, and the recovery performance is not as good as that of a single cyclone.
In summary
Single cyclone powder spraying room: easy to clean, the first choice for quick color change, but the height of the factory building is required to be greater than 5 meters, and it is not easy to catch fine powder particles.
Multi-cyclone powder spraying room: It can handle fine particles, requires a lower plant height and smaller CFM, but it is not as easy to clean as a single cyclone.
