Methods to avoid powder mechanical coating agglomeration
Methods to avoid powder mechanical coating agglomeration
Occasionally, the powder coating may agglomerate in the use of powder machinery, which is mainly caused by the softening of the resin, leveling agent and other materials in the powder coating when heated. Powder agglomeration will affect the later use effect, so how to avoid powder mechanical coating agglomeration? The specific method is as follows:
①In the production of polyester resin, select some alcohols or acids that can increase its glass transition temperature, or reduce the amount of alcohol that can lower the glass transition temperature of the resin to increase the glass transition temperature of polyester resin.
②In the formulation design of powder coatings, reduce the amount of low glass transition temperature polymers (such as leveling agents and brighteners) to ensure that the glass transition temperature of the powder coating system will not decrease. At the same time, in terms of production, the broken flakes from the steel belt should be fully cooled before entering the grinding process. When grinding, the feeding speed should be appropriately reduced, the amount of induced air should be increased, and the imported air should be equipped with air-conditioning to control the grinding. temperature.
③Add anti-caking additives, such as nano-silicon dioxide, nano-alumina micropowder and other substances, to prevent the adhesion between powder particles. Generally, the anti-caking agent and crushed flakes can be milled at the same time.
In the use of powder machinery, there is no single method to prevent the agglomeration problem of powder coatings. Excessive use of one method will bring other problems to powder coatings. Using a variety of methods for scientific cooperation can effectively prevent the agglomeration of powder coatings.
